As the Christmas season filled hearts with hope and homes with celebration, IDEA continued its mission of spreading joy through our annual Christmas shopping activity for our Deaf students.
With wish lists in hand and guidance from our dedicated teachers and staff, our Deaf students explored the stores, choosing items that aligned with their needs, personal preferences, and the simple wishes they had been hoping to receive. Their carts were filled with essentials, including clothing, school supplies, footwear, and personal care items, all selected with visible joy and gratitude.
It was a day filled with grateful hearts and joyful smiles. Jared, a student of BDA, shared, “I am happy because we were able to do Christmas shopping again at Island City Mall. I chose my own clothes, pants, shoes, slippers, and toiletries. Thank you, IDEA, for supporting us.”
Beyond the gifts they received, our Deaf students were reminded that they are truly remembered, deeply cherished, and celebrated not just during the holidays but throughout the year.
